Remote Desktop Hacked?

Hello -

I have noticed over the past year some strange glitch when i'm on certain websites - namely my website backend (sure server / icdsoft), Mercari, & collab.land. (see attchd screenshots) At first I thought it was just a strange glitch, but upon further investigation today it appears it is actually some kind of echo? of whats on my desktop. I did a google search & it appears that it is related to remote desktop sharing!? I have always had internet sharing turned to "off" & all services unchecked.

Here are some screenshots that are concerning you can see the glitch in the background - why is Mercari (an online market similar to ebay) showing glitches of my active desktop?

Here is the glitch more evident on collab.land - something is going on here and its very concerning.

I’d start with getting backups, as Time Machine doesn’t appear to be running and I don't see any scheduled backups. One of the very few ways to mark data as valuable is with scheduled backups. No backups means the data has no value.

Some of your Mac hardware could be failing (your battery is sketchy), or maybe you’ve got a corruption, or you’ve got other (probably software) issues.

Video or memory would be obvious possibilities for hardware issues described, though your aftermarket SSD is also slow, and is way too full. But before looking into that, (and given current backups of your data) I’d look into the software…

I’d start with removing AVG and MacKeeper. Removing those might require a re-install, as corruptions and issues caused by those sorts of products can be intractable. Add-on “security” apps, add-on VPN clients, and add-on “cleaner” apps can tend to degrade performance. Sometimes substantially. And while providing little value to you.

I’d also then remove the Google apps pending some other work, as those tend to consume prodigious resources doing who-knows-what, such as Chrome here nearly using half of your memory. Between all that add-on stuff and your presumably-needed Adobe CC apps, you’ve got ~zilch for memory left over, and ~zilch for free storage.

Running right near memory or near storage capacity gets slow.

TL;DR: insufficient free storage, far too much memory usage, problematic and unnecessary add-ons, bad battery, potentially other issues, and no backups.
