Sony wh-1000mx5 after making a call from the phone, the macbook loses the headphone microphone input

Hello,

please help.

I have my sony wh-1000xm5 headphones connected to two devices at the same time - macbook pro (m1 pro) and iphone 11.

As long as I'm not calling on my iphone, I can see the headphone mic input on the macbook:

Vstup = input (Slovak language)

As soon as I make a call via iphone, after the end of the call the input of wh-1000XM5 disappears irretrievably:

Only disconnecting and then connecting headphones will help. Subsequently, I see the headphone mic input again in the settings. For some reason, mac os can't automatically use the headphone mic input after a phone call.

Thanks so much for help.

Hello RomanDado,

When you connect these headphones, the Mac won't reconnect after a call has been taken on the iPhone. This would be expected behavior. You could switch between associated devices if you were using AirPods, but not Sony headphones.

If you have feedback about this, we'd encourage you to provide that here: Product Feedback

Keep in mind, Apple reviews all feedback, but you may not hear back on any given. Apple does not request unsolicited ideas.

You may also want to consider contacting the manufacturer of the product, for future feature requests.

We hope this helps out, take care.

Sony has thoroughly checked my suggestion and the statement is as follows:

Dear Mr Ďaďo

Thank you for your patience.

With reference to your enquiry regarding your Sony WH-1000XM5, kindly note that we have received the outcome of the investigation, which confirms that since the headphone work fine with Windows, then the behaviour is caused by the MacBook not the headphones.

You may refer back to the support of your MacBook in order to check the matter further.
