PDF Errors after downloading Ventura

I recently downloaded Ventura and now nearly half of my PDFs are corrupted. Some open with a large white box covering the image, others open but look like gibberish -- like random letters and numbers typed over the text so it is not readable (see image below). In some cases, it looks fine on my screen but when I go to print it, random pages are missing or blank or have symbols on it (see image with print box showing what the doc looks like behind it and then what is going to print, a blank page) I need to be able to print these files for my business and am very nervous...
