I am considering buying the MAC Studio

Hello all,

I work as a malware analyst - Reverse Engineer - so I use VM.

Beside that I fly FPV drone, and in the winter i can't fly these, so i want to keep practicing flying fpv using few simulators out there. Few of them need high frame rate, graphics and a lot of cpu usage, and beside (as i mentioned before) I use VM for my job.

So while I'm considering buying the apple mac studio, I read a lot in the internet that the MAC Studio doesn't really make its job into running windows vms (using Oracle VM VirtualBox), and it doesn't really take care the high frame rate and the high graphics fpv simulators like:

  • Uncrashed
  • Tryp
  • LiftOff
  • and many more

So what do you think ? is it worth it to buy the MAC Studio ?

Thanks.

Okay, after all the comments the answer is quite simple. No, the Mac Studio is not the computer that will suit your particular needs. No, it does not officially support Windows at this time, and may never. That’s up to Microsoft. No, you will not be satisfied running your flight simulators in emulation mode. Yes, tinkerers will always find a way make something work unofficially but is that something you want to do in a work situation?

So can you guarantee to the original poster that his software will run on the ARM version of Windows? Are you telling the OP to go ahead and buy the Mac Studio and everything will be fine? No, you can’t and you’ve veered off into some “yes I can” argument. In a mission critical environment a professional wants solid facts, not a “I did this and it works” report.
