Text notification from husband

When my husband texts me, I do not receive a notification. If my screen is locked it doesn’t work but everyone else I will receive notifications. If I am already in texts or looking at my screen it will chime otherwise if I lay my phone down, nothing. I have checked to make sure that the alerts are not hidden, I do not have on focus, he is not blocked, and I have not muted any conversations with him. I have checked every single thing and looked for days trying to figure this out. I even tried turning off the Lock Screen and still nothing. I I also called Apple support. They told me to download the newest version of iOS, and restart my phone, and nothing helped. Please help!?
