IMac activity during the night.

Why does my list of applications show that each of them were modified at the same time in the middle of the night (3:37 am) a few weeks ago? Do I have malware?

iMac, macOS 10.13

So, they were all Apple apps? If so, again, it was probably a normal autoupdate.

There are options that control Apple autoupdates in System Preferences > Software Update > Advanced

If it's Office 365, it was undoubtedly an autoupdate.

It was perhaps 60-70% of my installed apps. Mail, maps, music, photos. etc. I notice that it did not impact the Office 365 apps.
