Firefox on MacBook Air

I want Firefox as a second browser on my MacBook Air. However after I download the file will not open. What can I do?

Compatible browsers for 2011 iMac Safari isn't supported anymore. I can create (music and graphics) and have regular time machine backups. I like Safari but if I need to use a new browser such as Brave, I will. Do I have any other options besides buying a new or refurbished iMac? [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Browser default settings - no option to choose Google Hello, I'm running a MacBook Air with OS Monterey 12.6.3. I'm trying to change the default browser from Safari to Google but Safari is the only default browser listed within 'General'. How can I fix this please? Thanks in advance.
