facebook jumps around

Is anyone having issues with Facebook scrolling and jumping through posts when you don't even have your hand on the mouse?

Yes. Facebook has become unusable for me on the Mac. If you're in the general timeline feed (House icon towards the top left), FB spews out ad after ad without you doing anything.

I timed it twice, and both times FB barfed up ads for 30 seconds straight before it finally stopped. By then, an article I actually wanted to read had been pushed up and off the top of the list. I couldn't even get back to it.

I did check my settings and had every possible ad control set to never show ads (as much as you can turn off). Made no difference.

This doesn't happen if I'm on my iPad using Facebook's dedicated app.

Edit: Per some of other comments here, it seems to be directly related to the current version of Safari and Ventura. If I use Firefox (same OS), no problem.

I just cleared my history yesterday and fb said they had deleted my fb...I got it back but afraid after jumping through all the hoops my new fb will disappear...I got hacked really bad a few months ago and created a new one...and having the same problems as you guys....skipping all over the place....I haven't seen this problem brought up in the media anywhere but it seems so widespread.

I do not know who fixed it...but what I am having problems with recently, if I "like, or laugh," etc on someone's post, it jumps up to maybe 6-8 posts above it. Also, if I click on a post with numerous pictures and when I am done, trying clicking on the "X" it just goes back to another picture, sometimes I refresh and it works other times I have to click on Facebook again. This is getting ridiculous.
