You have an iPhone 14 Pro and it is still covered under Apple's 1YR Limited Warranty (US). Take advantage of it and have your iPhone examined at the Apple Store or at an Authorized Service Center for further diagnosis and a resolution.

You can try contacting Apple but I think they will tell you the same thing as everyone else in here has, this is not covered by the warranty.
Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support
New IPhone 14 pro - $1600 and - put into case and screen protector as soon as purchased ! 5 months later the edges look like crap - paints chipped away around the edges ! Definitely low quality from Apple as I’ve not dropped the phone once ! And I’m all my years of phones, they normally look brand new after years as I mother my phones. Apple will deny its an issue and blame user.. very disappointing- has anyone tried paint touch up ? And ideas or links to paints etc ? My Apple Watch has a tiny paint damaged area - I use a permanent marker - looks great but rubs off in a few weeks ..,
Curious about this clause…wouldn’t the issue be workmanship? Seems too coincidental
This Warranty does not apply: (a) to consumable parts, such as batteries or protective coatings that are designed to diminish over time, unless failure has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship; (b) to cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches, dents and broken plastic on ports unless failure has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship;
I have the same issue. Bought the phone from my operator and original silicone case as well. Every week I was removing the case to clean it and every time I was discovering new and new “scratches” on the edges. Quite disappointed with Apple. I think they shall do something for all iPhone 14 users as this is production failure, not user error. Replacing the phone won’t help as it will always be the same. I think Apple should make a super deal for us to buy the iPhone 15 at a half price and this will compensate their bad quality on the iPhone 14’s color on the frame. Very bad experience with Apple’s quality. I believe they will react somehow because they will loose half of their fans. I won’t risk and buy the iPhone 15, especially on a regular price …..
Many of us including myself put a case and screen protector on the phone the moment I opened the box, before even turning on the phone, I’ve never dropped my phone once, and still the paints chipping so it’s definitely bad quality especially for a high end expensive phone!
If a ton of people send a letter to customer service and document the letter and ensure you get proof it was received we may have a case. Honestly if 100s or more have the same issue we can maybe push it further. There has to be something we can look up to how these recalls get started.
I recently made the transition to the Apple ecosystem, starting with the purchase of an iPhone. To my disappointment, just a few weeks after purchase, I noticed chipping on the outer edge of my iPhone, despite it always being protected by a case.
Initially, I believed it might be a case-related issue, but upon changing the case, the chipping persisted and even worsened. Interestingly, I had also purchased a silver/white iPhone for my wife simultaneously, using the same case brand and model, yet her phone shows no signs of similar wear. This leads me to believe there might be a durability concern, specifically with the black paint finish.
As a first-time iPhone buyer who quickly became an admirer of the brand (subsequently purchasing a MacPro 14 and an Apple Watch S9), this experience has been quite disheartening. While I eagerly embraced Apple products, this issue will make me more cautious in the future, especially regarding pre-orders.
Hello! I reached out to Apple about this issue and they let me know that it would not be covered as it is cosmetic damage, however, they also supplied me with the lovely book about what is covered. What they are failing to acknowledge is that this being so common is an indication of poor workmanship. As they mentioned, it is not covered “unless failure has occurred due to a defect in material or workmanship”. This is exactly that. The product is clearly very poorly made.
I have the same issue with my iPhone 14 Pro Max.. I also use a screen and phone protector and I noticed also paint chipping at the edges.. this is not user wear but in my opinion manufacturing defect..
No luck - Apple support said it was considered cosmetic and that was that. Very disappointing for a phone that has cost close to $2,000.
Essentially was told unless there's a recall there was nothing that could be done unless I was willing to pay the replacement cost.
No, cosmetic damage is not covered under warranty.
It has already been mentioned many times in this thread that Apple does not cover cosmetic damage or flaws.
Asking the same question over and over will not result in a different answer.
This is absolutely not true. The manufacturers don’t cover it (cosmetic flaws meaning scratches, dents, chipping of paint) for any brand nor does most insurance plans.
I thought I was the only one….i have an iPhone 14 pro max and the paint is chipping all around the edges. It’s been in a case since I got it. Apple probably won’t do anything about it at all so I was thinking about painting it myself.
