keyboard language back to factory

Hello

so I get a second hand German MacBook Pro 2018, it had thus the German keyboard QWERTZ , I then get French key set to replace, it's working like a charm, I then updated my MacBook Ventura settings to only use the AZERTY keyboard and deleted the QWERTZ.

However, how come that at the boot when I have the login screen the input language is back to QWERTZ ?

Is there something to change somewhere else? Is the keyboard registered in a kind of BIOS of the machine ? how to change this?

thanks!!!!

Go to system settings > users and groups > login options and you can at least have the input menu present at login so you can change to azerty.

Some ideas for changing it permanently:
