Longevity of iCloud calendars

Is there any limit to the number of entries that can be made in Calendar (including some with attachments) or a limit to the length of time they will be stored on iCloud? I want to use Calendar to make around 15 entries each day, in various calendars, occasionally with attachments, as a kind of diary record, and for them to be readily available forever. Is this possible or a suitable use for calendar? (Obviously I back up locally too but this is not my question)

While their may be technical limits as to how many individual entries may be added to an individual day, you are unlikely to encounter them; practical limitations are far more likely to be encountered before a technical limit is reached.


There are no published limits as to how long in the past your Calendar entries will persist. Any limitation is most likely to be due to your available device and/or iCloud storage.


While you can use the Apple Calendar App as a journaling tool, it may not be the most useful App for this purpose. You might consider one of the many available third-party Apps. Here is a link to an article from imore that offers some possible alternatives:
