Facebook scrolling Problem using Safari (iOS on iPad)

This issue is happening in Safari Version: 13.1.2 on Mac OSX, also.

I have reported this to facebook January 15th, 2023.

I suspect an update was completed on Facebook and Safari (including Apple iOS) may have compatibility issues with that particular update. This started happening a few days ago.

It worked fine, then suddenly this issue popped up with no other changes to the browser or OS. Same issues on other browsers and across all platforms.

Clearly, this is a FB issue. Probably happened by “improving” the website. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

I’m curious, does this issue occur with the FB app?

There is no issue with Facebook App on IPhone. This appears to be issues on Safari OSX, IPad iOS only.

most definitely a Facebook update on possible refresh / scrolling code. I suspect.

I have done no new updates to my machine that was working fine, until a few days ago.

This same problem started for me yesterday using Facebook with Safari on my iPad after it updated to iOS 16.2.

I have deleted the Safari cache and history, powered iPad down and restarted — the situation persists.

I tried Chrome (which I don’t normally use), and it had the same behavior.

On my Mac Studio running Ventura 13.1, I get the continuous scrolling in Facebook after scrolling down about half a page, only in Facebook, only in Safari (16.2). Desktop Chrome displays Facebook normally.

FB App on iPhone (iOS 16.2) and Facebook website opened in Safari show no issues.

iPad running iPadOS 16.2 also scrolls FB continuously as on desktop, Chrome on same iPad does as well, though only 3-half screens at a time, then pauses, different behavior than the "never stop scrolling" in Safari on the Mac Studio. This bug renders Facebook unusable on the iPad, and I am forced to use Chrome on desktop. So bizarre.

Facebook app is fine. Only prob is I don’t use the app on the iPad because I hate it, ha.

Problem starts the moment Reels appears in scroll. Prior to that point all is well/normal in scroll.

I'm having the same problem with Safari on my iMac. Updated a few days ago to Ventura. Facebook page keeps jumping and scrolling. Facebook works fine in Chrome browser.

Same here in Safari 14.1.2 on MacOS 10.14.6

With a news feed jumping like that, Facebook becomes unusable!

Still, no problems in Chrome, that I don't want to use...

I guess it's just a bit of CSS that needs to be fixed.

If it is Facebook doing this, why is it that the problem doesn't exist on a PC/Windows, on other browsers... and DOESN'T exist on an older iOS/Safari (prior to iOS 16). Facebook is running great on an Apple "i" device with an older iOS/Safari (chose not to update to 16 and glad I did now).

It's not just FB, it's also happening on Discord so I'd say it's a Safari/Mac OS issue. Mine was working fine until I did the update yesterday. You think Apple would notice such an issue in testing. Hope it's fixed soon.

I have the exact same problem with facebook on safari after updating my System to ventura. I tried using chrome and no problem but like some others I don't like using chrome. I hope Apple fixes this soon because it's very annoying!

I agree, it’s definitely a Facebook update issue. I’m curious if you scroll through Facebook Market place, does it intermittently refresh / reload the page? I noticed that started happening recently, also. Extremely frustrating.
