Why does Finder show less iPhone storage than my iPhone itself?

I have my iPhone plugged into my computer. When I access the iPhone (as if backing it up) on Finder with my Mac Air, it says I my phone is 119.65 GB (23.4 GB Available). My phone is 128 GB so I don't understand this. My phone says I have 103.9 GM of 128 GB Used (which would be 24.1 GB available).

I've disconnected and reconnected a few times already. I've also waited for a good while in case it just hadn't updated the information. Why are all the numbers different?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.6

Hey ashih18,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities. We understand that you have questions about the Available Storage on your iPhone.

It sounds like the discrepancy is due to how your iPhone categorizes content: How to check the storage on your iPhone and iPad - Apple Support

Do you have a current back up of your iPhone on your Mac or in iCloud? If so, try restoring your iPhone from the backup to see if the discrepancy is still there: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support

Let us know how it goes! Take care.
