How to repair Disk Exit Code 6

I just had a LaCie drive say it could not write but only read. I ran Disk Utility on it and it ended with Exit Code 6. After searching I could not find any person who had successfully resolved it. Well, I just noticed that it was an exFat formatted drive.

So, I ejected it from my MacBook and attached it to my Alienware laptop and it also said it had errors. It asked if I wanted it to scan & fix, and I replied yes. After a good minute or two it had successfully repaired the drive. I ejected it and attached it to my mac and it works.

Moral, if formatted in a windows format Fat, exFat, etc....attached to a windows machine and let it fix the drive.

Hope this helps someone.

Thanks
