Stolen Apple Watch from the package

Hello, I bought an Apple Watch SE on december for my birthday, opened the package today just to find out it was stolen from the package, and even the band was stolen, except for the charger. Apple was very quick and it's currently preparing a replacement to ship, but I really can't understand how this happened. The carrier was UPS by the way, and I thouth UPS was the best shipping carrier out there...

I hope it doesn't happen again with the replacement.
