'Unknown' caller ID

I can block any caller's number on my iPhone. Why on earth can't I simply block any call that comes in without 'caller id' data? I will NEVER accept any call that has caller ID data blocked. ..... And I have NEVER received a voice mail from an 'unknown' number that I've regretted not answering ... or that I've EVER had ANY reason to call back!

Didn't think of this from your perspective. If the case of the OP, then your reply should work.

Getting this Option:

If Apple had that building, then would defeat to purpose of selling apps to its customers.

Provide Apple Feedback:

Do your part: Let Apple know what is going on here. Provide them with feedback on this. They may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they received on this, the more they will know what is going on, and what needs to be fixed in updates to come.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Comment: that you want this to be an option, and why.
  3. Select: "Feature Request" for the "Feedback Type"
  4. Proceed from there aw necessary

Use Malwarebytes Mobile Security:***

Whoever this caller is, they are paying their phone provider to hide their phone number. So, it may be an important phone call coming in. If you don't want tot receive these calls, then use Malwarebytes Mobile Security. The free version blocks popups. The paid version lets you block numbers. Read the following post to see how to use this software: Blocked numbers - Apple Community

For people who believe a caller with blocked 'caller ID' information MIGHT be important.... they shouldn't HAVE TO turn on a blocking function. But for those of us who feel those callers are ALWAYS spam/scam/useless/unsolicited sales/etc.... We SHOULD have the option to block.

I'm not clear why that option doesn't already exist.... since it should be INCREDIBLY simple to implement at the system level. (Since any 'identified' number can be blocked, then blocking all 'unknown' numbers SHOULD be easy.) It makes me worry that there might be a 'motivating' factor preventing Apple from implementing such an obvious function!

If Apple had this as a builtin feature of the iOS, then that would defeat the whole purpose of selling apps to its customers.

Unfortunately, I do not want to block all callers that are not in my contact list.... I only want to block callers who have hidden their caller ID data.

I frequently receive calls from 'new' numbers that are important and should come through.

In the same way that I can currently choose to block any specific number, I simply want to be able to choose to block any incoming call that is missing caller ID data.
