Please help me unlock my work ipad's appleid, a previous employee added 2 step verification and we cannot reach him.

Please can someone assist me. My husband uses an ipad for testing for the company we work for. Someone within the company added 2 step verification with their own phone number. This person has since left and now we have a work device that cannot sign in with it's own appleid. If the code could be sent to the email, we could fix it, or if we could change the phone number on the 2 step verification. None of this seems possible.

Is there anyone that could assist with this issue?
