Time Machine Backups.

I have a 2021 16" M1 MacBook Pro running Ventura 13.1 with a 1TB HDD.

I surf the web, work on small spreadsheets and word docs. I create no content and download very little content. I use Mac apps very infrequently.

I plug my LaCie external drive into my Mac once per day to pull a Time Machine backup. Each day the backup is 12 GB or slightly more.

Given the fact I produce no content and download very little content, why are may backups so incredibally large?
