Hi,

In addition to the list provided by Tesserax, you could try the following power-cycle sequence (with these waiting times; do not forget the router): Power off the Wi-Fi router, the printer, the Mac, and all other connected devices/computers. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the printer. Wait a minute or two. Power on the Mac. Finally, power on all other devices/computers.

Sorry, but that's just not enough information to go on. We don't even know what printer you have.

Regardless ... to help you troubleshoot this issue yourself, let's start with:

  • Do you have any Anti-virus software installed on your MAC? If you do, please deactivate it for now.
  • Ensure the printer and the MAC are connected to the same network. That would be true if they are connected by Ethernet or by Wi-Fi. If by Wi-Fi, double-check to see which Wi-Fi radio is supported by your printer: 2.4 or 5 GHz, or both?
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, then the printer may not be able to connect to the network.
  • Check to see that your router is able to forward 'Bonjour packets'. The ".local" indicates that this may be the culprit. Bonjour locates devices such as printers, other computers, and the services that those devices offer on a local network using multicast Domain Name System (mDNS) service records. This software comes built-in with macOS and iOS operating systems.
  • Make sure that both your Mac and printer have the latest updates installed.
  • See if you can successfully ping your printer from your Mac.
