Format disk with Mac Extended for bootable installer in Ventura

Mac OS Ventura. How can I format a disk volume with Mac Extended using terminal app? This is to create a bootable installer. Disk Utility only formats with APFS in Ventura.

Make sure you Show All Devices from the View popup menu, then select the USB Stick, not any of its sub-structure.

Click Erase and set it to GUID partition map and you should be able to select Mac OS Extended. I don't think I have ever seen a case where you can choose APFS but not Mac OS Extended.

While you're at it, name it MyVolume so you can just copy/paste the command from the article.
