Turn iCloud notes back into TEXT for use in MS Word

I make notes in my iPhone so that I can transfer them to MS Word documents for literary projects. Now I'm opening those notes in iCloud only to find that copying and pasting them doesn't work, because they're saved as images (PNG's) for some reason.

Please help, as for some ungodly reason it seems that texts are made into images in the transfer from my phone to iCloud, which makes them unusable, and that I have to retype everything into Word looking at these textual images! I don't see any clear way to make them into the text which they should be... They're "NOTES" for Christ sakes, c'mon!

Hello AnotherWormInMyApple,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We want to help you get the most from your notes. You should be able to open your note, then select the text to copy and paste. Try here:

"View notes and locked notes on iCloud.com

When you set up Notes with iCloud, your notes stay up to date on iCloud.com and every device with Notes turned on in iCloud settings.

The notes list contains the notes in the currently selected folder. Notes are listed by last-modified date, with the most recent note at the top of the notes list. The list shows the first few words of each note.

View a note

  • In Notes on iCloud.com, select a note in the list.
  • You may need to select a different folder to see the note you’re looking for."

This Apple Support page has the full details: View notes and locked notes on iCloud.com - Apple Support

Then you can copy and paste the text you want after selecting it within the note.

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
