Is there a top cover for MacBook Air M2 (2022) yet?
Looking for a new MacBook Air M2 (2022)top cover but there does not seem to be any. I want to create a custom one. Will the 2020 cover work for 2022?
I saw another post about not using a hard cover because there was an issue with fans (or lack thereof). Where can I find a cover for the top to protect it from scratches?

As far as the heat issue, the new MacBook Airs do not have fans and rely on the case to get rid of heat.
Plastic being a good thermal insulator would be like putting a coat on your computer keeping a lot of the heat in.
For transport, just get a nice sleeve for it. There are lots of very nice ones with soft insides at reasonable prices.
FWIW, I would not use a cover either. John already provided evidence as to why not. I would also be concerned with heat dissapation, although I do not know for a fact that this would be an issue. The Macs have a hardy attractive case, why bother with another less appealing one.
Don't use cases, covers, or "skins" on a Mac.

I used a plastic hard case on the top for my last MacBook Air, it worked great. It was in pristine condition, which helped me sell it.

This 2011 MBA has been in constant use since the day bought it:
It gets transported nearly every single day in a generic soft case. Other than that I don't exercise any particular care with it.
