Batch Printing Double Sided, Documents bleed together

I have some multiple page news letters I am sending out every other month and I need to print them. They are 3-5 pages long. When they are odd numbers and I print like 100 copies, the FIRST page of the next document is printed on the back of the LAST page of the last document. Making the whole thing useless. I didn't notice it before I had printed out a bunch. Then I thought I had fixed it by going through the Preview PDF app and not Word but it just did it again. If I am printing 2-3 copies it performs fine... but when I ask for a large printing job it does this error. All of my machines are up to date. I don't know how to fix it. I don't want to keep wasting more paper than I already am with the newsletter in general. Has any one else had this error?

Hey there kateinabox,

That is a strange thing to occur. We'd like to help rule out some possible causes, along with confirming more details to better understand what's happening:

  1. When did this first start to occur when printing the same document more than three times in one go from those two apps?
  2. Does this only occur with one specific document, or do you create a whole new document each month with which this occurs?
  3. You mentioned that one app is Microsoft Word, while the other is 'Preview PDF' app. While we're familiar with the built-in Preview app that comes included with macOS, are you referring to a third-party app you downloaded from the App Store?
  4. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart. Check out the section ‘Restart your Mac' here: Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac
  5. You mentioned that you updated your Mac, and we see you have macOS Ventura installed, but the latest version is macOS Ventura 13.2. You can verify this by clicking on the Apple logo at the top left corner of the screen, then on ‘About This Mac’. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then Update macOS on Mac.
  6. We also recommend making sure that all apps are up to date: How to manually update apps on your Apple device

Cheers!
