IPad Search Bar

This isn’t a question, it’s a solution for revealing the Search Bar on an iPad (16.2). It was provided in a previous post in 2019.

Do you think Apple would have corrected the erroneous documentation? Well, they have not.

The Search Bar is NOT revealed by swiping down from the top of the screen. Reveal Search by swiping down between icons.

Correct.

If you are looking to Search from the Home Screen, using the Spotlight search feature, simply touch any empty area of a Home Screen with your finger - other than the extreme edges edges or corners of the screen - and swipe downwards to expose the Search dialogue.

Perhaps you have misinterpreted my reply to your post…

You are correct in asserting that the Spotlight Search dialogue is not accessed by a finger-swipe from the top-edge of the screen - but is instead exposed with a downward sipe from any empty area of a Home Screen.

Apple’s documentation is also correct in its guidance:
