Meross MSG 100 ececuting Hey Siri open or close via HomePod minis

I recently purchased and installed the Meross MSG100 smart switch with the required Meross accessory switch required per my lift master smart Q garage door opener. I have the latest Apple TV, set up as a home hub, and the mini home pods all connected to my 5ghz wifi network which is provided by my AirPort Extreme wifi. The only caveat is that the Meross MSG100 garage door smart switch is connected, per their instructions, to the 2.4ghz wifi from my same AirPort Extreme. The Meross, garage door opener, smart switch, will work fine opening, closing using “Hey Siri” while I’m home or away as long as my “Hey Siri open or close the garage door” command comes through my iPhone, iPad, or iWatch. If I try to use “Hey Siri open or close the garage door via my mini HomePods ,which are connected to the same wifi 5ghz network, Siri tells me “you’ll need to continue on your personal device”. All of these devices are setup in HomeKit.

can someone please tell me is there a way to make the HomePod minis execute the open or close the garage door command?
