Not Syncing with iTunes

Hello. I have an old Shuffle and Nano that won't sync within iTunes any longer. Obviously I've had these for a VERY long time and they've always worked. I've used them regularly until about a month ago when I started getting "The iPod is open in another window" error. I didn't change anything and now I can't access or load anything onto the devices. I've tried factory reset to default settings, etc., but nothing seems to work. Is there anything I can do or are these just going away???

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. To get started, are you trying to connect your iPod shuffle and iPod nano to iTunes on a Windows PC or Mac? Also, when you say that you're unable to access or load anything, is iTunes not detecting your devices when connected?


If so, and if using iTunes on a Windows PC, give the steps listed in the following resource a try under the "Not seeing your iPod in iTunes?" section: Get more help for iPod on PC – Apple Support
