How can I remove a recurring Outlook calendar event from my iPhone when it is not on my regular Outlook calendar? The owner of the invite is no longer with the organization.

I had this with a appointment that I already removed in Outlook but keeps getting back on my Iphone. To solve it I disabled the Calender sync and few minutes later enabled it. The exchange calender will then be removed and resyned. That solved it for me.

Cancel a meeting
1. Open Calendar, then tap an event.
2. Tap Delete Event.
3. Tap Delete Event again to confirm.
4. Calendar sends a notification to all meeting invitees that the meeting has been canceled.
