I want to shoot some short video clips (with audio), then merge into one. What is the best approach?

Shoot the clips and then import them from your camera into an iMovie project. Do your editing and arranging in the project timeline and then export the project as a video file to your desktop. All of the video clips will then be merged together into one long video.

To import into iMovie, plug in your camera to the Mac and click on the button with the downward pointing arrow in the upper left of your iMovie project screen.

A window will open up where you can navigate to your Camera and import its contents into iMovie. You can import into an Event or into an iMovie project.

Another way is to import the camera's video clips to your desktop and from there drag them into an iMovie project.
