I have created many albums in photo app and moved all photos in respective album. Actually, it just duplicates the photo and leaves all photos in library. My Samsung phone would MOVE the photo and not copy it, thus saving a lot of available storage on the phone. Is this not possible on an iPhone? Will there be an update that includes the option to only move and not copy photos to albums?

Hi Teresa,

on your iPhone and all other Apple devices the photos will always stay in the main library, even if you add them to albums.

Albums are optional and a photo can be in as many albums as you like!

The important point is that you don't need extra storage if a photo is in one / multiple albums.

Each album will only contain a link to the original photo.

This is a user to user forum, therefore nobody can tell you what Apple may plan for the future.

But based on the existing concept I would say it will stay for a long time.
