My macbook turning off every few minutes

My Macbook is turning off and restarts automatically every 3 - 50 minutes with no logdata or any sign of what happened.

It has nothing to do with how you use the laptop you can play games or just let it sit there with nothing open. It also turns off in save Boot or Recovery mode. The only way i never saw it turn of was in the login window. The performance of the laptop is still good. the way it turns off is similar to when you hold the power button

If your Mac spontaneously restarts or displays a message that it restarted or shut down because of a problem, click here --> If your Mac restarted because of a problem - Apple Support

You could also get Apple to evaluate it:

How to make a Genius Bar appointment

1. Go to Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple

2. Go to "Get hardware help".

3. Select your hardware and continue selecting options requiring replacing parts until you see "Bring in for Repair"

4. Sign in with your Apple ID

Could this be overheating? If the computer is running on something soft like a blanket, it can overheat.

Two critical areas for proper cooling:

Most 15-inch Macbook Pros (we don't know your exact model year) draw in cooling air through slits between the main chassis and the case bottom cover, and discharge heated air through the hinge area:

If either is obstructed, overheating can cause the computer to slow and eventually shut down.

Unfortunately you haven't specified which age and model MBP. With newer computers there is essentialy almost nothing you can do. With older ones you could try checking the battery seating and the seating of RAM chips.

Check how much free memory you have. Again what this means depends upon the model. Maybe also your software. I have used an older Mac where running a browser a long time resulted in memory leakage and abrupt restarting of the computer. See if you can establish a pattern possibly pointing to something.

If you have done what you can then the next thing is to take it to Apple.
