Question

Intolerable lag between AppleTV 4K and Siri Remote when connected to LG OLED television (OLED55B1PUA).

For the last couple years (and two generations) of Apple TV 4K I have been experiencing an intolerable lag between Apple TV 4K (both 2nd and 3rd generation versions/tvOS 14,15 and. now 16) and its SIRI remote when connected to my LG OLED55B1PUA television, which is about two years old.

Once again, this has been constant issue when connecting either generation AppleTV 4K box to this set.

On top of that, if I switch separate AppleTV console boxes (with its associated SIRI remote) from my LG OLED to my older LG (non OLED 4K) and vice versa the problem is transferred to the AppleTV 4K system connected to the newer LG OLED television.

Clearly, there is some incompatibility.

Since this problem has been reported, by me, in the past and is years old now (and a simple Google search will verify the problem with other users) why has Apple ignored it?

If you haven't already, complete the steps in the following guide to see if they help to resolve the issue you're experiencing with the Siri Remote for your Apple TV: If your Siri Remote or Apple TV Remote isn't working - Apple Support

Try these steps first

1. Stay within 20 feet (about 6 meters) of your Apple TV and move anything that blocks the path between your remote and the front of your Apple TV, television, receiver, and sound bar.

2. Charge your remote for 30 minutes using a USB-C to USB or Lightning to USB cable and a USB wall charger.

3. Unplug your Apple TV from the wall power outlet. Wait at least six seconds, then plug it back in.

If the volume buttons on your Apple TV remote stop working, learn what to do.

If those first steps don't help, continue on with the additional steps under "Restart your remote" and "Pair your remote" to see if they help. If not, since this happens with multiple Apple TV's, check for possible interference using these steps: Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference - Apple Support
