I've just installed a maxed out Mac Mini M2 Pro. Internet speed tests results are very positive. 500MBS both up and down. But web pages load very slowly, and sometimes time out. Ethernet connection. Every other Mac in the house runs just fine. Could this be the hard disk optimizing itself? I've tried dozens of fixes, but no improvement.
Ok, I've just changed a setting in the network hardware pane for my Ethernet connection:
switched to "configure manually"
disabled AVB/EAV mode
and rebooted.
It's been 15 minutes and internet is fast, downloads don't stall, and I haven't lost a single ping.
disabling AVB/EAV will be an issue if I buy the interface I need. it did however solve the latency issue immediately. This however is not affecting the M1 Mac mini so I would hope to find a better solution in the near future.
While disabling the AVB/EAV feature and specifying the port speed appears to eliminate the issue. Through future testing and observation it does not eliminate it, just reduces it. I am still seeing network drop outs.
Have had no luck with these settings or attaching a USB ethernet adapter. Massive packet loss on both the in-device and usb connected ethernet.
Talked to Apple several times and their answer is "Someone needs to look at it"

ship it back! I could not even access my router with the local ip
address! Your trick fixed everything! Now I have to find a driver that
works with my old samsung laser printer...
Done every step was mentioned above.
Unfortunately, no success.
I'm with Apple representatives over a week.
None of them had a solution.
Should I return my M2 pro mac mini, Or wait for a solution here
I'm afraid I don't have a spare drive or the available time this weekend.
If there are good reasons to think that this approach might be relevant then I would sincerely hope that Apple themselves are pursuing it.

thank for sharing. Having purchased the similar device, I noticed a reduction in internet speed; however, once I separated the two, the speech seemed to proceed more quickly. Occasionally, however, the internet goes down, which is very inconvenient.
The same problem occurs with wireless. Other wireless connected Mac's in the house no problem. So, I don't think it could be the ethernet cables.
It's not a WiFi problem: we are discussing an Ethernet problem here ;)
It's probably a network-wide problem, may be it occurs on the fist network interface that the user sets up during install.
