Weather App Radar

Does anyone else's radar not really work in the Apple native weather app?

It barely works for me on my iPhone, iPad, Mac or work iPhone.

It's unfortunate since this new weather app is supposed to be a Dark Sky replacement due to Apple acquiring/dissolving that great app.

Just because Apple acquired Dark Sky does not imply they won't change or omit functionality. I get tired of the inaccuracies such as a Snow beginning in an hour with a temperature of 32 degrees, when the National Weather Service reporting from my Airport 5 miles distant shows a temperature of 37 degrees and there isn't a cloud in the sky. No one in these user supported communities can tell you what the Apple Weather product team has planned.

If I were you, I would bookmark the National Weather Service's Cleveland Hopkins Airport site in your phone browser and refer to that forecast. That site also has a streaming radar and satellite views.

I use RadarScope on my iPhone and a RadarScope Pro subscription on my Apple TV 4K to peer into severe weather right down to the size of hail in a thunderstorm cell and warning detail. It uses the latest NEXRAD Level 3 radar imagery.

Mine does the same thing. Big blocks that can't be seen in DFW TX area. It also does it in Colorado areas. This seems to have started with me about 4 to 6 weeks ago. It does the same thing on my iPhone 13, M1 MacBook Pro and New iPad. All with the latest updates as of today 2-22-23. and.... The radar 1 Hr vs. 12 Hr forecast never looks the same. Hasn't for ever.

Hello Lers5503,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities. We're happy to look into this with you, however we're not exactly sure what behavior you're experiencing with the feature in Weather app. When you say it barely works, do you mean sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't? Is it showing inaccurate information?

The more details you provide to us regarding the issue you're facing, the better equipped we'll be to research potential solutions. If you'll provide us more details about what's going on, we'll be happy to see what we can find to help.

Best regards.

Yeah, same. Doesn't work for me. The radar either is missing, or is like a checkerboard - I can see some squares where there is radar, others where its missing. Reboots and such - nothing fixes it. Have a new-ish iPhone 13 with latest updates installed. I was also a fan of Dark Sky and just perplexed and frustrated by how mediocre this weather app is, why Apple finds it so hard to get this right.
