Here is what we experienced: Find my iPhone (iPhone 14) didn’t work when the phone was on the airplane mode when I used it one day. Two days later, the sound of Finding My suddenly played loudly at the middle of night.
My questions are
1) Are these two incidents related?
2) What happened was a feature or bug?

In Airplane mode there is no way for the phone to receive the instruction to play a sound, since Airplane mode turns off all connections: cellular and wi-fi.
If it only came out of Airplane mode 2 days later, then that is when the notification would have come in to the iPhone and it did what it was told to do at that point, play the sound.
