iCloud storage expired notification, How do I stop it?

I recently purchased a new iPhone. When I transferred the info from my old one to the new one I used the iCloud transfer data option built into the iPhone. Now that I have transferred the info I keep getting an annoying notification that my iCloud storage has expired and my iPhone isn't being backed up. I can manually backup my phone and the backup is well below my 5gb free space.

I have seen several posts on the internet about this problem but not solutions. Does anyone have any ideas or will it eventually just go away?

Hello s49,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. According to the following resource here: Get temporary iCloud storage when you buy a new iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

It states the following:

After you restore your temporary backup to your new iPhone or iPad, your temporary backup is available for 7 days before it's permanently deleted.

This is most likely why you're seeing this notification. There isn't a built-in option to disable Settings notifications. If this notification remains after 7 days, we recommend that you reach out to Apple Support for additional help. Just in case, you can use this link to reach them: Get Support
