Airpod Glitches

Hello :) I have had my AirPod Pros for hardly a month, and they have started having a glitch where without warning, the sound of whatever I am streaming (be it YouTube, Hulu, etc) suddenly completely mutes while the visual of the video itself keeps going as if nothing is wrong. Then, suddenly, the sound will come back to normal for a few seconds, and then *again*, it will go silent, and so on. This is happening when using them with my 2018 MacBook Air, but had my computer's age been the problem, this would have been an issue ever since I started using my Airpods. They do, however, work with my phone, so I may just need a little advice on settings perhaps. I have already tried the suggestion just to change the setting so that it doesn't feel for my ears in my laptop settings, but it the setting was already turned off. That said, I do not believe that was ever the problem anyway because this is only a new issue today.

Is there anything I can do about this? Any advice is appreciated.

Hello Elizapplebeth49,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities. We're happy to look into this with you. Have you tried resetting your AirPods Pro? If not, this is the best troubleshooting option to try and help isolate the issue to either the AirPods or the MacBook.

How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support

1. Put your AirPods in their charging case, and close the lid.

2. Wait 30 seconds.

3. Open the lid of your charging case, and put your AirPods in your ears.

4. Go to Settings > Bluetooth. Or go to Settings > [your AirPods].
- If your AirPods appear there as connected, tap the More Info button  next to your AirPods, tap Forget This Device, then tap again to confirm.
- If your AirPods don't appear there, continue to the next step.

5. Put your AirPods in their charging case, and keep the lid open.

6. Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds, until the status light on the front of the case flashes amber, then white.*

7. Reconnect your AirPods: With your AirPods in their charging case and the lid open, place your AirPods close to your iPhone or iPad. Follow the steps on your device's screen.

Since the reset process is handled using an iPhone or iPad, be sure that you forget your AirPods on your Mac before completing the reset process. Once they are reset, pair them back to your Mac and test them out to see how they are doing.

Keep us posted on how it goes.

Best regards.
