16.3 upgrade and no response

I upgraded my devices to 16.3. I have almost 20 devices in apple home. Since the upgrade, the majority of the devices saw no response. I reset my Apple TV and it resolved the issue temporarily, but I woke up this morning and the majority of my devices say no response. Any suggestions?

Hello Applfan1,

We definitely want to help you access those devices with ease. To get started, we'd recommend ensuring that all devices in the home are updated, whether that's a HomeKit device or an Apple device. For your HomeKit devices, you may need to check their respective app to view firmware updates.

Once complete, go ahead and restart all devices in the home. For your Apple TV, disconnect from power, then reconnect after all devices are back online.

If restarting only temporarily addresses that behavior, you'll want to reach out to Apple Support: Contact - Official Apple Support They'll be in the best position to look into this further.

Take care.

I have contacted Apple for the same issue where when I ask Siri to control an electrical outlet/plug or smart thermostat or smart lights, it said something in line where there are no devices and I need to setup devices.

I have learned that this issue is not related to the 16.3 update but it is a bug in Homekit app that they are working to fix and release a new version for a couple of weeks now (since the start of 2023).

It looks like Homepod update somehow refreshes something in Homekit where the buggy code gets executed.

They have provided me a workaround and it worked:

I have been asked to create a new room in Homekit called "Test". (Name does not matter)

Then power cycle (off/on) one of my Homepods. (you might even not need to powercycle)

Then everything started working again.

I was told that if it didn't work for a specific Homepod, I need to do a power cycle on it.

I hope this helps others
