Calendar Alerts Not on Apple Watch

I have "Allow Notifications" on with an alert sound. Ideally my watch would chime when I have a meeting to go to. This seems like a function a lot of people would want and apparently it works for most.

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max running iOS 16.2 and an Apple Watch Series 3 model A1861 running version 8.7.1 (19US67). I have tried a lot of troubleshooting to no avail. Even my phone wasn't getting alerts. The last thing I did was to delete the Calendar app and re-install it on the phone. This got alerts happening on my phone, but not my watch.

One wrinkle to this is that my wife has an identical phone and we're using the same Apple account on both phones, so she gets the alerts, even before I re-installed Calendar. She doesn't want my alerts, so that's another issue.

As long as you share an Apple ID, your wife will continue to receive your alerts and vice versa. There is no workaround for that.

Make sure that each family member has a unique Apple ID - Apple Support

Apple recommends that everyone have there own uniques Apple ID. If there its information you want to share with your wife use Family Sharing.

As for the other problem, the first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.

Be aware that Notifications appear on your Apple Watch or iPhone, but not both. If your iPhone is unlocked, you get notifications on your iPhone instead of your Apple Watch. If your iPhone is locked or asleep, you get notifications on your Apple Watch, unless your Apple Watch is locked. For more info, see:
