Kernal panics after mid-2014 MacBook Pro SSD upgrade

Hello everyone,

Recently, I upgraded my mid-2014 15" MacBook Pro to a 3rd-party NVMe SSD. I was recommended the Crucial P1 NVMe 1Tb drive for this upgrade, and it has been running smoothly for a few days. However, recently I have been experiencing a large amount of kernel panics when waking the computer from sleep. For example, I open the MacBook's lid, and it won't power on for about 5-10 seconds. Then, I press the power button, and I am greeted with "Your computer restarted because of a problem" message (See attached screenshot named; Restarted Problem.jpg").

I have also attached two screenshots of my MacBooks specifications.

Also, attached to this post, is my kernel panic log file.

Any help would be appreciated!

Something to keep in mind with many of these NVME, they have a very small NVME to M.2 adapter at the very end like is shown below.

if yours had this, that could be the reason for the kernel panics. They can be loose, or not fit in very well.

Wherever you bought it from, make sure they have a good return policy in event of defects. If you had no kernel panics with the previous SSD there, and are working from a clone or erase and migration assistant restore from from a clone of your previous data, that's the first place I'd look. Kernel panics tend to be due to either driver issues, or hardware issues. The error in the panic log would be more meaningful with a run of Apple Hardware Diagnostics, or Etrecheck report.

Hi,

Thank you very much for your advice, I originally had this adapter from ebay:

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/221826323651.

It was not very good at all, so I purchased this adapter from Amazon (Sintech):

https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B01CWWAENG?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details.

This one was recommend on other forums, as a very good brand, and therefore I have purchased this one.

Still, I am getting Kernel panics.

I ran an EtreCheck yesterday, just recently after the panics, here is a link to a GitHub GIST:

(PS; is there a better way to upload a file to this post, as I cannot see a File Upload button?)

Thank you
