16.3

Having the problems updating to 16.3, without resolution. Tried to connect to PC and do update as wired and that totally destroyed my phone because it forced to restore and update and the restore won't complete. Tried many many times. Apple Support couldn't tell me any solutions beyond what I already tried. Did all the things again to humor them and still not working. iPhone 13 I've had less than a year. Storage capacity is fine, PC iTunes was updated, but the phone seems to be a lemon. Started acting funny past week - draining battery, getting hot, and (though was showing health at 95% - when I could actually access the phone before the restore attempt shot it). Any ideas out there? I already went ahead and just ordered another phone because I'd dead in the water without anything at the moment. Would like to get this to some degree of function to sell it.

iPhone 13, iOS 16

If you have skipped many iOS updates in the past then you may need to connect to the internet using WiFi to download the latest iOS version. If you do not get the option to update using Mobile data then please use WiFi.

There are only 2 ways to update an iOS/iPadOS. Know how to...

Before any iOS / iPadOS update, please do the following

Go to Settings > General, and tap Profiles & Device Management. Tap the iOS Beta Software Profile. Tap Remove Profile, then restart your device --> How to uninstall iOS beta software - Apple Support

VPN or proxy connections might prevent your device from contacting the update servers.

If you still can't install the latest version of iOS, try downloading the update again:

  1. Go to Settings > General > [Device name] Storage.
  2. Find the iOS update in the list of apps.
  3. Tap the iOS update, then tap Delete Update.
  4. Go to Settings > General > Software Update and download the latest iOS update.

If you don’t see the update in the list of apps or if the issue happens again, you need to update your device with iTunes.

Try updating iOS after each step.

  • Try to Forget the WiFi network and add it again
  • Try another WiFi network
  • Toggle sets automatically off and then on
  • Reset your network settings
  • Force restart your device
  • Remove any beta profiles, if applicable
