Help with basic settings please

Hi guys.

I bought an iPhone for my mom who is 55 years old. She is very old school and can't read much but she is able to use the basic functionality of the phone in android phone for Camera, YT and WhatsApp call.

So every time when she changes her phone I lock all the settings and the home page so she doesn't accidentally move things around and get used to her basic layout.

However, the transition to Apple IOS has been a nightmare for her :(

I tried to play around with screen time and parental settings but it's all been in vain I think I have been searching and watching YT tutorials for 6+ hours already. so I thought I might ask for help here as well.

Questions:

  1. Does anyone know how to lock the home page icons so that it doesn't get moved around just by pressing for 2-5 seconds on the home screen? Is there any way to increase the hold time to 8-10seconds+?
  2. How to turn off camera access when she swipes right on the lock screen?
  3. Is there any way to disable the app list when she swipes left on the home screen?

Device info:

  • Iphone 13 Mini
  • IOS15.6.1

These settings are so basic any phone should have these right???

Many thanks in advance!

Go to Settings->Accessibility->Touch. Here on Haptic Touch set the duration to Slow. Another setting to check is Touch Accommodations. That’s for the first one, but for the others I’m afraid there’s no way to change them. You can also look for another settings if needed in Accessibility. Also I advise you to update the iPhone to iOS 16.3, as there are many new and helpful features as well as battery and stability improvements.

Have a great day!
