Exporting handwritten notes as PNG (NOT PDF)
Similarly to this thread How can I export handwritten apple notes … - Apple Community, I have not been able to find a way to export handwritten apple notes as PNG images in iOS 16. Comparing between my phone (iOS 15) and my iPad (iOS 16) and my Mac (Monterey), there does not appear to be any workaround I could find to do this. If anyone has managed this, please let me know, as exporting notes into an image has gotten far more difficult and cumbersome.
Previously working procedure:
- Write a note with one or more sections of handwriting
- Click the three dots in the circle in the top right corner
- Select "Send a Copy"
- Scroll down and select "Save Image"
- Each section of handwriting is saved as a PNG image to the Photos app
Current "most similar" procedure (does not accomplish most goals):
- Open on the iPad only
- Click the "Share" icon (arrow in a box), not the three dots in a circle (there's totally different stuff there now)
- Select "Markup"
- Do nothing and hit Done
- Save as PDF
- This PDF at least has all of the writing in it, unlike the exported PDFs from my Mac, which simply cut off the handwritten sections at the end of a page if they are longer than a page. However, it still line breaks in awkward places in the middle of writing.
The PNG image format is much nicer than PDF, since it does not have page breaks. In addition, sometimes when saving PDFs on my Mac, the handwritten sections come out upside down.
The main workaround I have found is to take a screenshot, but this does not work for anything that is too long to be shown on the screen.
