Monitor won't refresh after sleep mode on M1 Mac Mini

When my M1 Mac Mini goes into sleep mode, in order to bring the video back on the monitor, I have to shut it the Mac Mini down pressing its start button, then pressing it again to start it. Then the picture returns. The monitor is connected via a Thunderbolt 3 to HDMI adapter cable, (from Mac Mini's TB3 port to the monitor's HDMI port). Unplugging and then plugging back in the TB3 cable from the Mac mini doesn't refresh the picture on the monitor. Only a button pressed shut-down and restart will get the picture back on the monitor after the sleep mode kicks in.

Go to System Preferences and disable the Sleep preference for the mini.

The M1 doesn't gain much by going to sleep, and this issue with monitors not waking after has been noted by quite a few users. You can allow the monitor to sleep, but don't let the mini itself sleep.

That did help...thank you...I can now turn off my monitor for some time and on turning it back on the picture is there. There remains a definite deficiency in the Thunderbolt connection to the monitor though. With the HDMI connection I can use a splitter to use 2, 3 or 4 monitors. Not with the TB output though. Strangely too, for some reason my Asus PA329Q monitor rejects the TB to HDMI connection from the TB out on the Mac Mini. No picture at all. The monitor has no trouble displaying from the HDMI to HDMI connection.
