Monitor not waking up from sleep M2 Mac mini Ventura 13.3.1

I am using a M2 Mac mini running Ventura 13.3.1 connected to an HP w2207 monitor via a hdmi to dvi d cable.

The monitor is usually kept in sleep mode. When I boot up the mac mini the monitor refuses to wake up. I then have to switch off and switch on the monitor for the display to come on. The same isse happens when I restart the mac mini. My 2009 mac mini however works perfectly connected on the same cable via display port. Any suggestions to sort out this issue would be very welcome. Thanks.

Thank you den.thed that solved the problem. I am indeed stuck with this old monitor because I just can't seem to find a monitor today which does not have the anti glare coating. I am so used to working on a glossy screen. The Apple studio monitor is outside my budget.

If you are stuck with that older monitor?

Get a USB-C to HDMI adapter and plug your existing HDMI to DVI cable and monitor into it.

DVI is prehistoric, has been obsolete since over a decade. Get a new monitor with HDMI, use it with a cable 3’ or less. 16:9 resolutions on 27” or 24” work best. All the best!
