Connecting iPad to Apple TV

I have an iPad Pro running IOS 16.2 and there doesn’t appear to be a way of connecting to Apple TV other than doing a screen mirror. My wife has the same iPad model with the same IOS and network and she gets an Airplay symbol (rectangle with a triangle) in the top RH corner of video screens within browsers when the screen is tapped. I don’t get that symbol on my iPad whether I use Safari, Crome or Firefox but there is an Airplay symbol on the YouTube app. There must be something different in settings preventing Airplay appearing in browsers but I can’t find anything (there’s nothing in the Apple TV settings). In General settings, AirPlay to TVs is set to automatic.

Any advice please?

Open the iPad Control Centre; swipe downwards from the top-right corner of the screen.


At the top-right of the Now Playing control, tap the AirPlay button (a long-touch performs a slightly different navigation action)…




You should now see the this control panel - from which you can control various aspects of AirPlay, including the selected target; everything that you see on this panel is a control:
