Cannot install any .pkg files

So I've got the latest version of MacOS (13.2), and any time I attempt to install any .pkg file it fails with the following message:

"An error occurred during installation.

The installation failed.

The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."

I have contact the makers of some of these .pkg files and the ones who have got back to me believe the installer should be working. I have also tried booting in safe mode and the .pkg files still fail. Any ideas would be massively appreciated!

Ok so managed to solve this myself somehow! Turns out moving .pkg files from the Downloads folder to the Desktop folder and then starting installation works perfectly. Hope this helps incase anyone else has this issue! Still no clue what caused this though as it worked fine before the update, but ah well.
