Cannot install any .pkg files

So I've got the latest version of MacOS (13.2), and any time I attempt to install any .pkg file it fails with the following message:

"An error occurred during installation.

The installation failed.

The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."

I have contact the makers of some of these .pkg files and the ones who have got back to me believe the installer should be working. I have also tried booting in safe mode and the .pkg files still fail. Any ideas would be massively appreciated!

After much searching and experimenting what worked for me was in system settings give total disk access to the installer (System/Library/CoreServices/Installer), the thing is that once activated I managed to install one pkg file, and it disappears from the list, so to install another file you need to add it again. I would think the software installer had to have total access without one having to add it, but I hope Apple solves it in a new update. Hope this works for any of you!
