(This is what I wanted to edit the previous post into.. the site would not accept any edits or allow me to delete it)
iPhone XR, iMac 2013 Mojave
iPhone photos = 41, 683
iCloud library = 41, 682
iCloud Recents = 41, 965
iMac photos = 41, 965
iCloud library orders photos by capture date. So my edited photos (from photoshop express mobile) are shown in the same position as the original photo. iPhone shows photos in the order they were completed.. so edited photos are shown on the date in which they were made. So iPhone and iCould Library show all photos in a completely different ordering.
iCloud Recents shows all photos in the same order as they are ordered on the iPhone.
You can see that iCloud Recents has almost 300 more photos than the iPhone and the iCloud Library:
1) What could account for this disparity?
You can see that iCloud Recents and iMac Photos have the same number of photos.. I can only deduce that iCloud syncs to iMac via Recents since Recents and iMac photos have the same number of photos 41,965 and iCloud has 41,682, the same as on the iPhone.
2) HOWEVER... iMac photos are also in the same ordering as they are in iCloud Library.. not in the same order as iCloud Recents.. So... how can iCloud be syncing to my Mac and give the same number of pictures as are in iCloud Recents 41,965 (again.. apx 300 more photos than are on my iPhone) but sync photos to the Mac in the same ordering as is shown in iCloud Library.. (again.. a different ordering than the photos on my iPhone)?
This is very confusing to me so I hope I was able to get the point across.. thanks in advance...
