Cannot rent or purchase movies in iTunes Movies app on AppleTV 5th generation

Hi there,

Recently, I tried to rent a movie on Apple TV but after the authentication process is done, nothing happens. The message I get says: "Authentication Successful - Close your browser window and go back to complete your purchase". However, I'm not sure where to go after this and on my Apple TV nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong?

Unable to authenticate for renting/buying content. So my AppleID is all signed in seems to be fine, I have no issues streaming anything. However, if I want to rent something, I am getting error message that says “Continue on your phone or device to authenticate” and then… nothing. No email, no notification, no QR code. Nothing is directing me anywhere to actually authenticate. I have up to date AppleTV app on PS5, iOS is up to date, AppleID settings all seems to be fine. I’ve had confirmation emails on my subscription to AppleTV, so I know it’s not an email/ID issue here. Any ideas?

Roku Apple TV and Apple Music app verification failure code I am unable to sign into the Apple TV app on a Roku Express 3960RW. I have deleted and restarted the app more than once without a resolution. I have confirmed that the username and password are correct. This is the only devise with an issue…my iPads and iPhones have no issue. Also I was able to sign into the Apple TV on an older Roku devise. I notice on both the iPad and iPhone, under Settings > Apple ID, under the Roku 3960RW device is says, “The device cannot be used to receive Apple ID verification codes.” So I guess that is the reason, but how can sign in successfully? Please note, I am having the same issue with the Apple Music app…I am able to scan the QR code and it goes to activate.apple.com and successfully sign in, and under the Apple Music app Accounts it shows my apple ID is active and signed-in, yet when I go to Library or try to stream music is keeps telling me to sign-up or sign-in and scanning the QR code seems to work but still can’t stream.

trying to purchase a tv episode I can buy muisc and books but now I don't seem to get to purchase tv shows. I have checked passwords, device authorisation etc but on clicking 'buy' I get "Authentication Required. European legislation requires banks to authenticate certain transactions". I click OK and then - nothing. Try again. Still nothing. Have had to do this recently for other purchases. Straightforward download happens. Why does Apple TV not work ? Any ideas. Have tried both Safari and Firefox browsers. No difference.

On what device is this happening? The Apple TV box shouldn’t mention browser windows, as it has no browser app.

My box directs me to iPhone, iPad, or laptop. I tried using both my laptop and iPhone and the message came up on those devices. After the authentication was successful nothing happened on my Apple TV.
