Family Sharing Secondary ID Error

I am trying to setup Family Sharing with myself as the Organizer. I want to use a secondary Apple ID.

I have setup the Family Sharing just fine, but when I go to change to a secondary ID, I get an error that “Payment Method is Required.”

The problem is that the secondary ID I’m trying to use does already have a Payment method. It’s also telling me to go to “iTunes and App Store Settings” to add such a payment method, but that settings menu doesn’t exist anywhere.

What am I doing wrong?

I figured it out.

The secondary Apple ID I was using had never been signed into a device as the primary ID. I signed it into a different device, and opened the App Store, and I had to accept the terms of service of the App Store.

It turns out the “No Payment Method” error was incorrect, the actual problem was that the account had never accepted the App Store terms of service. These errors should probably be updated to reflect the actual problem.

Oh boy, this may be tricky and I think you need to ask Apple if it is possible.
