I’m having the same issue currently. The ‘forget all adapters’ option seems to have disappeared entirely from settings, or else it was moved? I’m also on the latest version of iOS as of writing this.

If you are referring to the forget all adapters setting, it is settings, sounds and haptics, headphone safety, lightning adapters, at which point you may or may not have “forget all adapters” as a selection.

in my case I have been using an adapter almost since I got the phone a few months ago so in theory I did have an adapter to forget but my phone didn’t seem to remember it had something to forget. I use a lightning to 3.5mm adapter with an external microphone. I only needed to reset it because it was not working like it should with a 3rd party app for filming videos and the developer suggested I reset the adapter. (After finally getting to be able to reset the adapter, and choosing ‘other’, i.e., not headphones, it does indeed work fine now with the app). Right now, without the microphone plugged in my screen displays forget all adapters, with the microphone plugged the screen looks like this, whether the connected to headphones indicator is off or on makes no difference for me:

Hi Jimeg,

To clarify, it looks like you have a Lightning adapter connected to your iPhone and are trying to reset all of adapter settings?

To get started, we'd recommend ensuring your iPhone is fully updated: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support.

If the issue persists on the latest iOS version, contact Apple Support directly to take a look at this more closely.

Take care.

I was trying to get my iPhone to forget all adapters so I could reconnect an adapter to select “other”, not headphone. As the screenshot showed, I did not have the screen with the option to “forget all adapters”. It simply did not show up on my iphone screen with or without an adapter/microphone plugged in. While still troubleshooting I randomly went to accessibility-audio/visual-headphone notification and switched that on and “forget all adapters” suddenly popped up on my screen. (I did finally get to select other). As a further test I turned that headphone notification setting back off, but the forget all adapters screen did not disappear. Not sure what’s going on. I am having an ongoing conversation with Apple due to be resumed Monday.

It has not moved.

Apple engineering did not fully explain what’s going on but they said my iPhone was now working correctly. That obviously wasn’t really helpful but since it randomly appeared it has remained available on my iPhone so technically it is working ok right now. It randomly became available on my iPhone after I selected settings, accessibility, audio/visual, headphone notifications. After it appeared i later turned that setting back off and the forget lightning adapter was still available and remains available. If that doesn’t help contact apple support. They were very helpful but ultimately they could not solve it and the issue was forwarded to Apple engineering.
